Private italian villa rentals In the heart of Italy: Ideally located to explore Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany.

The Surroundings

From the villa Le Terrae and the villa of the Aqueduct beautiful views on the Umbrian hills and towns and on the surrounding woods, remains of the ancient Ciminian Forest of the Etruscans, so thick and mysterious to be feared by the Romans.

The landscape is characterized by the warm colors of the underlying volcanic rocks. The fertility of the soil and the richness of water produced the lush vegetation, with the dominance of oaks (Quercus robur), that distinguishes this area and the neighboring Umbria (known as the green heart of Italy) from the drier landscapes of Tuscany. In this enchanting natural scenery the ancient hill towns seem to be spontaneously raising from the volcanic tufo cliffs.

You can discover an unknown part of Italy, in the heart of a territory rich of historical and artistic legacy: Etruscan and Roman necropolis and sites, Medieval historical centers, Renaissance palazzi and gardens.

Away from the beaten routes of tourism, you can come in touch with the daily life of local people that still show a true sense of wonder and admiration toward the foreigner, "il forestiero", regardless if he is coming from overseas or from across the river.

Above are our pictures of the hill town and the archeological sites at 1 to 2 miles from the villa Le Terrae.
